| Classic Truck Fest September 28, 2007 Dear friends, We were blessed, once again, on the day of our “Antique and Classic Truck Fest”, September 9, 2007. It was a warm day without a cloud in the sky...the perfect backdrop for all of the gorgeous vehicles that came to our 5th annual show. There were over 75 trucks and cars and more than 10 flea market vendors. Our shuttle van, provided courtesy of Crowley Auto Group, Bristol, CT, was busy all day, transporting visitors from the show to the museum. David Grant Caterers of Shelton, CT served up a BBQ luncheon, which was sponsored by George Assenza, from Smith Barney, New Haven CT, Ken Crowley from Crowley Auto Group, Bristol, CT and Marion Barnes from Frontier Trailer Associates, Rocky Mountain, NC. Face painting was done by Tasia and Mario manned the fresh popcorn machine. Entertainment was provided by Jeff Chen a pianist and sophomore at Pomperaug High School. Seth Carly, our DJ, who was sponsored by Paul Cecio of Greenwich, CT, provided music and entertainment at Quassy. The popular raffle prize, donated by museum founder Frances Guerrera, was a John Deere pedal car. During this year’s show over 40 trophies were awarded in many categories. Our trophy sponsors were: Dr. Robert Meade, American Dry Stripping, Doug Bridge, Art Goodrich, SRS National, LLC, Robert Manchester, Ted Moody/ Shelter Rock Business Center and Maxie’s Signs. The slow race was a new and popular addition to our show and the trophy was provided by Bob Manchester of Cromwell, CT. Many individuals and companies contributed monetary donations which were very helpful with miscellaneous costs associated with the truck fest. Those generous donors included: Gerard Barrieau, Ron DePinho, Larson Brothers, Inc., Motor Transport Association of Connecticut, Joe DeSantis, Adform Advertising, Teamsters Local#671 and John Dwyer. Our show booklet this year was the largest yet and we encourage everyone to support our generous advertisers. The “Autocar” was the featured truck at this year’s show and George Dragone of Dragone Classic Motorcars, Bridgeport, CT, was the sponsor of the cash prize for best Autocar at the show. Next year’s featured truck will be the “GMC” so keep the date opened; Sunday, September 7, 2008. Of course the show could not have been the success that it was without our wonderful volunteers. Their support is always greatly appreciated! We are especially grateful to all of the exhibitors who provided the reason for our show...their beautifully restored and cared for vehicles. Hats off to all of you and we hope to see you once again next year! Thank you again. Sincerely, The
